WHAT WE DO
We have a unique approach to music delivery, using a unique blend of social enterprise & “pay it forward ideology” to bring people together from all walks of life and abilities. We aren’t just a studio, we are a learning centre, teaching skills such as music, arts, team work, communication and problem solving skills. We encourage and teach citizen skills, community action and volunteering.

- To provide an environment to enthuse and engage young adults to develop their knowledge in music.
- To motivate & challenge young adults, using music as a learning tool.
- To work in partnership with other likeminded organizations.
- To Specifically target NEET, young adults with learning disabilities to help build skills, aspirations and tackle worklessness.
- To break down barriers & tackle prejudice of race, colour, creed, religious beliefs & sexual orientation.
- We use the universal language of music to break these barriers down.
- To help promote community cohesion and help build on Bradford’s capacity of a peaceful multi-cultural city.




Certa Accredited Qualifications.
From July 2019, School of Rock and Media started a pilot shceme to run Certa Accredited Qualifications in Audio and Sound Production, Personal Development and DJing Skills. In the first 9 month, more than 15 students have graudated with new qualifications. This number is growing, as we develop more subjects, and increase our prospectus.

Tony Saunders
Director
Bassist for world touring bands for over 26 years. Qualificatied in Youth Work. Experience in Human Resources though Citation.

Michelle Bolton
Director, Finance/HR
26 years experience of working with adults with learning disabilities. She has Qualifications in Health & Social Care.

Duane ‘Dubz’ Levy
Production Supervisor
Music signed to various labels, specialising in Urban electronic music. Over 5 years experience working as a family support worker.

Andrew Illingworth
Workshop Leader
Andrew works doing sound for feature films and tv. He has a 1st class degree in music, and runs music production, recording sessions and festivals for SORM Studios

Leigh Stothard
Music Facilitator
Proffessional drummer, playing on over 30 albums, recorded in a multitude of studios. Leigh runs all the Certa Accridited courses

Rebecca Sykes
Youth Arts Worker
Rebecca is a visual and multi-media artist, qualified in Fine Art and Youth and Community Development. Experience in music; singing, performing and song writing.

James Hudson
Session worker
Degree in Music Production and Performance. Sound Engineer and Music Producer / Session player. Guitar tutor in various syles.

Stephen Ó Máille
Workshop leader
Stephen has over 25 years as a musician, playing bass and guitar. He runs workshops repair and mentanance for studio equipment.

Dorian Smith
Session Worker
Dorzi is a UK Rapper/Singer/Songwriter from Bradford,West Yorkshire. Known for his energetic live performances Dorzi has headlined at many of the big Northern Nightclub events such as Niche (Sheffield) ,Casaloco (Leeds) and B-Line (Bradford). He has also performed several times at the massive MOVEMENT event and and at the UK’s number one night club The Syndicate in Blackpool to name only a few . Dorzi has influenced and inspired many of the younger up and coming M.C.’s in his hometown , either directly or indirectly influencing the styles of many through his House & Bassline collaborations with various local Producers & Artists Such as TS7, Tom Zanetti, Bad Boy Chiller Crew, Big Ang & Katie May to his own hip hop influenced songs “That’s How it is” and “CheekySmile”.

Kate Mitchell
Online Coordinator
Usually, you’ll find Kate in theatre full as a producer, director, actor & vocalist (including touring internationally with an ABBA Tribute Show)
Kate has come on board to help get information out to students and staff about Coronavirus (and doing anything else she can turn her hand to whilst we’re all on Lockdown)

Kevan Bolton
Drum Teacher, Roadie
Also known as ‘The Beast’ because of his heavy drumming and sheer strength. He has played in UK touring bands for years. He works as a drum teacher and roadies for festivals around the UK.

Jack Bolton
Session planner
Jack, has been drumming for over 13 years. He has level 1 and 2 Diploma in music. While working at SORM, Jack has been trained in anaphylactic shocks, mental capacity training, and safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
